PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (better known as PUBG Mobile) has become highly addictive and most popular Battle Royale game for gaming lovers in India. Earlier this month, Indian government has already banned 59 Chinese apps due to security reasons. In addition, there were 47 Chinese apps which were reportedly clone apps of previous banned apps. The government has banned those apps too.
Now, there are 250 more Chinese apps in India which fell under government’s radar to be banned, including the all-time favorite PUBG Mobile.
PUBG somehow survived in India just because it is not completely Chinese. PUBG for PC is managed and created by Bluehole, which is a South Korean giant. But Tencent, which is a Chinese gaming organization, handles distribution and development of PUBG Mobile. In case PUBG is banned, what would PUBG lovers do? Here are some of the best PUBG Mobile alternatives –
Call of Duty Mobile
Call of Duty is actually published by Activision, which is originally an American company. But Call of Duty Mobile is developed by TiMi Studios, which is a subsidiary of Tencent Games. The game is completely owned by Activision, irrespective of giving a small share to Tencent.
Call of Duty Mobile is a tough competitor of PUBG Mobile. In case PUBG is no more in India, there are strong chances that COD Mobile could take its place. Its fast-paced gameplay makes it stand out of PUBG. It has Multiplayer and Battle Royale modes. There are 100 players who join the Battle Royale game to fight one another to be the last one standing. Each player can choose operator class in Battle Royale mode to add more excitement. You can play 5v5 scene in Multiplayer mode and try your hands on military-level operation skills and deadly weapons.
If you are looking for a Battle Royale game that is non-Chinese, Fortnite is the one. It is published and developed by an American company, Epic Games. Though it is not so popular in India like PUBG Mobile, but it stands top when it comes to global popularity. It is another biggest rival of PUBG for consoles and PC. Its cartoonish graphics may turn you down but the game is well-executed. Like PUBG, 100 players drop empty handed in Battle Royale. Once they enter the island, they need to find weapons and resources to kill other players. If you are leaving PUBG Mobile, you should definitely give it a shot.
Gerena Free Fire
It is a free Battle Royale shooter for iOS and Android. It is published by a Singapore-origin company, Gerena and developed by 111dots Studio, which is based in Vietnam. Its game mechanics would definitely remind you of PUBG Mobile but it has 50 players rather than 100. Its not-so-good graphics may turn you down but it still has a great player base. Despite having average graphic quality, the game is well optimized to run easily even on budget smartphones. Gerena is also planning to launch Free Fire Max, the enhanced variant of Free Fire.
This 32-player Battle Royale shooter is developed by Futureplay, which is a Finnish company. Its graphics are completely different from Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG. It is mainly designed to target younger players. It has different game modes you can try for some changes. It lacks voice chat feature. So, players cannot coordinate with one another. All in all, it is a good choice for those who want less graphic violence but still get the feel of PUBG.
